Bending & End Forming
Precision Tube Bending
When speed and precision count, Fraser Steel is customers’ choice for automated tube bending. The firm specializes in bending tubes with a variety of fabricated features – including holes, notches, copes, mitres and beads.
Fraser’s state-of-the-art bending cell is equipped with optical sensors to ensure accuracy. Patented technology, software and cameras work in unison to make multiple, precise bends, of any size, on the same tube. This allows for the production of complex components without straight sections between the bends. Less sophisticated facilities can’t match Fraser’s capabilities. It can handle:
- Single and multi-plane tubes
- Varying wall thicknesses
- Mandrel bending
- Variable radius bending
- Aluminum and steel materials
The Shape of Things to Come
Fraser Steel can handle virtually any shaped tube – including round, oval, rectangle and square. With the addition of its large-capacity, rotary-draw tube bender in 2009, it can bend up to 6” round tube or 4” square tube to the customer’s exact specifications. The “big bender” can handle a maximum centerline radius of 18”. Most other bending plants can’t come close.
End Forming Capabilities
In addition to tube bending, Fraser Steel offers single or multiple stroke end forms up to 3/16” diameter. It can meet the following production requirements:
- Single and multiple beads
- Single and multiple flares
- Expanding and swaging
- Saddle flares
- Shell locking and quick connects
Complete Assemblies Under One Roof
Customers appreciate the ease and efficiency of doing complete assemblies under one roof. Parts can move from laser cutting, to bending, to welding without ever leaving the plant. This saves time, enhances accuracy, and eliminates unnecessary transportation costs.
